Coast Funding and Research Specialists of America

Financing for RSofAM Clients

Funding to Launch Your Clinical Research Program

Research Specialists of America shows your practice how to add clinical trials as a revenue line. Coast Funding is where the capital comes from — the program, the equipment, the coordinator, and the months of work before the first sponsor payment lands.

The Programs

One application. The structure that actually fits a research program.

A research line is a business you stand up before it pays you. Your advisor recommends the program that matches what the capital is for — the setup cost, the equipment, or the gap between delivered visits and sponsor payments.

Business Line of Credit

Gives your business access to a revolving funding facility that can be used to cover recurring business expenses. Draw as needed up to your approved limit and only pay for the capital you use.

Best For

  • Inventory ahead of a busy season
  • Bridging customers who pay on 30, 60 or 90 days
  • Payroll through a slow month
  • Taking on a contract larger than your cash on hand

Business Loan

A lump sum of capital repaid on a fixed schedule you agree before you sign. Built for the moment you know exactly what you are funding — a renovation with a contractor’s bid, a bulk inventory buy, a project with a clear price tag — so you can commit immediately and negotiate like a cash buyer.

Best For

  • A second location or a build-out
  • One large, defined project
  • Buying out a partner
  • Expanding into a new market

Working Capital

Upfront capital for a specific operating need — payroll, inventory, materials, or the gap between an expense landing and the revenue for it arriving. Sized to what your revenue and cash flow genuinely support rather than to the maximum available, and built to renew as the business grows.

Best For

  • Payroll between receivable cycles
  • Materials to start a job you have already won
  • Inventory for a specific order
  • Covering a seasonal dip

Equipment Financing

Finance the equipment your business runs on, with the equipment itself serving as collateral. You choose the asset and the seller, Coast pays the vendor directly, and you repay in fixed monthly payments matched to the working life of the machine — when the final payment clears, it is fully yours.

Best For

  • Replacing equipment at the end of its life
  • Adding capacity for a new contract
  • Medical, dental and imaging equipment
  • Trucks, trailers and heavy machinery

SBA Loan

Government-backed financing for the projects that reshape a company — commercial real estate, buying a business, a major expansion. The guarantee lets lenders offer traditional market rates and the longest terms available, with an SBA specialist guiding a document-heavy process from application to close.

Best For

  • Buying the property you operate from
  • Acquiring another business
  • A long-term investment you can plan around
  • Long terms that keep the monthly payment low

Swell by Coast Funding

Coast’s fully online funding program, where approval is based on the revenue of your business rather than your personal credit. Draw from $5,000 to $100,000, choose a 4, 6 or 8 month term, and pay only for the time the funds are outstanding — application to funding, all self-serve.

Best For

  • A short-term gap you want closed today
  • A smaller amount, handled entirely online
  • An opportunity that will not wait
  • Building a track record with Coast

Where Coast fits best

An established practice adding a research line

  • You already have a patient panel and revenue — the research line does not need a track record yet
  • The capital has a job: the program, the site equipment, a coordinator's salary, the ramp
  • You want the structure sized to the practice's cash flow, not to the maximum available

Where it may not be

Your advisor will tell you early

  • Practices in their first year, or pre-revenue
  • Personal or consumer borrowing — Coast funds businesses only
  • Shopping on price alone, without regard to structure or fit

Close but not sure you clear every bar? Apply anyway — an advisor reviews the whole business, including signed contracts and pipeline, and gives you a straight answer either way.

How It Works

1

Apply in about five minutes

A short application and roughly four months of business bank statements. Checking your options is a soft credit pull only — it does not affect your personal credit score.

2

Talk to a Business Funding Advisor

A dedicated advisor, not a call center, reviews your goals and cash flow and recommends the structure that fits — including telling you when the answer is a smaller number.

3

See the terms before you commit

The amount, the term, the payment, all before you sign anything. Your advisor will walk you through each step ensuring you are comfortable and making a sound business decision.

4

Funds in as little as 24 hours

Once contracts are signed, funds are deposited directly to your business bank account.* This is where the relationship begins, not ends.

The Coast Difference

Responsible. Renewable. Relationship. The Coast Way.

Most of our industry sells rescue — the option you take when the bank has said no. Coast is built for the opposite situation: a business that is working, with a growth constraint.

Responsibility

Advisors are trained to structure funding responsibly rather than to maximize a “transaction.” If a number is too high for your cash flow, we will guide you on the best path forward.

Relationship

At Coast, relationships with clients matter. We take the time to understand your business, your use case, and your vision. You aren’t another number, and that’s how great relationships are forged.

Renewable

Your history sits with Coast, so the next round does not start from a blank application — and the funding scales with the record you have built.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I finance the cost of the RSofAM program itself?

Yes. A setup cost you can price exactly — the program, the build-out, the first equipment — is what a business loan is built for: a lump sum on a fixed schedule agreed before you sign. Tell your Business Funding Advisor what you are standing up and they will size it to the practice's current cash flow rather than to the maximum available.

How do you underwrite a practice whose revenue sits in receivables?

We look at revenue and bank deposits, not just the balance sheet. A practice with strong collections and a predictable payer mix is a strong business even when a large share of the month's production is still in adjudication. That's why practices carrying heavy Medicare or workers' comp receivables still get funded quickly.

How fast can a practice be funded?

Many practices fund within 24 hours, and same-day funding is available when closing documents are completed by 11 AM PT on a business day.* Timing matters in a reimbursement crunch — it's why the application asks for deposit data rather than three years of committee-ready financials.

Do all partners in a group practice have to provide financials?

Not always. Structures vary with ownership, but in many group arrangements Coast can underwrite around the operating owners rather than every minority partner. An advisor reviews your ownership structure up front and tells you exactly whose documentation is needed before anyone gathers paperwork.

Do you finance medical equipment?

Yes. Coast offers equipment financing from $10K to $5M on 2–5 year terms, with specialty programs for medical equipment. The equipment serves as collateral, payments are fixed and monthly, and if you have an invoice in hand, equipment deals can close remarkably fast — we've funded a $95K medical laser the same day.

Can I pay off early or renew my funding?

Yes to both. You pay for the time the funds are outstanding, so paying off early reduces your total cost of capital — we actively encourage it. And because Coast's programs are designed as a renewable resource, returning clients fund the next need quickly, often qualifying for stronger terms as revenue and payment history grow.

Will applying affect my credit?

No — there's no hard credit pull to see your options. Coast uses a soft credit review during the application, so exploring numbers, amounts, and structures costs your credit profile nothing. A hard inquiry applies only to certain traditional products — larger equipment deals and SBA loans — and then only with your consent, after an approval you have chosen to move forward with.

Is Coast Funding a direct lender?

Yes, Coast is a direct funding source with institutional backing. Coast funds many programs directly and arranges others through a select network of funding partnerships. Either way, your relationship is with Coast: a dedicated advisor structures your funding before closing, and a Relationship Manager supports you after — no call-center handoff. That model lets us match each business with the structure and terms that fit, rather than forcing every client into one product.
